1. When are you open?

We are open Noon to 5 PM Fridays and Saturdays. Noon to 4 PM Sundays. Weather permitting we will be open these 3 days year round. Additional hours are seasonal. Please call or email for the current schedule. We will open early or late to accommodate your traveling plans when our schedule does not meet your needs. Appointments advised and preferred.

2. Where are you located?

We are in downtown Burwell, Nebraska. We are ½ block north of the square. Burwell is:

3. Do you buy items?

Large or small we buy it all -one piece, entire collections or estates.

4. How many estates do you buy a year?

Prior to 2001, 8 to 12 a year. Since renovation, 3 to 5 a year.

5. What are the benefits of selling the estate directly?

Family member keep all items they want for free instead of paying 10 to 15 % to buy back their desired family heirlooms. There are no advertising or commission fees. You receive a fixed amount. You save time and energy. You do not empty the house or prepare the items for auction. It is private method to dispose of a loved one’s possessions. Families usually discard the weird items that have the most value.

6. What is the charge for consultation or appraisals?

Yes. 1 to 5 items are 19.99 each. Discounted rates available for 6 or more items. If you have a high end item worth more than 500 dollars we will sell it online for you. If you consign your item for worldwide marketing a percentage of the appraisal is free. Consultation is $25.00 per hour plus 20 cents a mile. Payment must be received before consultation begins. Consultation fee is reimbursed if we purchase the estate. You are welcome visit the BBF and use our extensive library of antique books free of charge.

7. Do you take consignments or rent booth space?

No. We personally select all inventory.

8. What is Collectibles and Cuisine?

It is a preplanned trip to friendly Burwell for groups of 4 or more. It must be purchased ahead of your visit. For $10.00 you get a 10 dollar gift certificate for the Burwell Butter Factory and a 5 dollar gift certificate good at any of our local restaurants. Your trip must be booked and prepaid prior to your visit to Burwell. Minimum value is 15 dollars. Your cost is 10 dollars. Email for more details.

9. Why is the renovation of the Grand Foyer so slow? I waited 9 months for books in the Butter Locker. Why did it take so long?

Basically, lack of income. We have not received any local or government funds/grants.

10. We have an old kitchen cupboard from our farm. Plus, we have old store fixtures. Could you use these in the Butter Factory?

Yes, we are particularly interested in Nebraska items. Donated items will have an engraved plaque on it. We also purchase display items of historical value.

11. What is Reach Out and Touch?

It is a prearranged program for the terminally ill to arrange gifts, gift certificates and cards for their loved ones to receive on important dates.
